Municipalities and registered non-profit community groups are eligible to apply for a grant to a maximum of $25,000 for the incorporation of recycled tire products into value-added community projects, such as playgrounds, parks, buildings and walkways.
Applications are due April 28, 2006, to the Alberta Recycling ManagementAuthority (ARMA). ARMA's 2006 Municipal Community Grant Program provides an opportunity for communities to use and benefit from a wide range of recycled tire products.
Since 2000, nearly $3.5 million has been returned to Alberta communities, funding 214 projects in 152 communities, according to ARMA.
