The Recycling Council of Alberta (RCA) has announced the date, location and theme for its 2010 Waste Reduction Conference. The event, with the theme “Building Tomorrow,” will take place Oct. 13-15 at The Fairmont Chateau property in Lake Louise, Alberta.
The RCA has set up a conference Web site (www.recycle.ab.ca/rca_conference_2010/index.html) containing the show’s program, registration information and other conference details.
Sessions are being planned to cover a variety of topics, including:
• Building recycling program awareness through social marketing, advertising and eco-conscious graphic design
• Remarks from RCA President Philippa Wagner and incoming RCA President Jason London
• A keynote address from Jennifer Koole of construction engineering firm CH2M Hill
• Urban planning and “Communities of Tomorrow”
• Biodegradable plastics
• Renewable energy
• “Corporations of Tomorrow,” including a presentation from Wal-Mart
• Remarks from Jerry Powell of Resource Recycling magazine
The RCA event will also include an exhibit area and several networking events.
