Al-jon Announces Installations

Commercial Metals and Pick-n-Pull are among the companies who have recently installed Al-jon equipment.

Al-jon Inc., Ottumwa, Iowa, has announced a number of recent equipment installations.

Knoxville Metals of Knoxville, Tenn., and Second Chance Salvage of Fort Pierce, Fla., recently installed Al-jon 580CL car loggers. These portable loggers weigh in at 93,000 pounds and are equipped with four corner hydraulic outriggers for stability. According to Al-jon, the 580 CL is capable of logging 25 car bodies per hour with a bale height of 40 inches by 25 inches by variable length at a density of 30 to 60 pounds per cubic foot.

Commercial Metals of Birmingham, Ala., and Environmental Recycling of Lexington, Ky., are two of several companies to add Al-jon 400XL balers to their operations. “The 400XL baler’s curved box design and larger loading chamber efficiently process bulky loose scrap, white goods and gauge material down to manageable 20-inch-by-32-inch-by-variable bundles,” according to Al-jon’s product literature. “Increased hydraulic power allows the operators to sort and stack material during the automatic baling cycling, eliminating lost labor time and minimizing the labor cost per ton.”

Pick-n-Pull of Sacramento, Calif., and Philip Services Corp. of Canton, Ohio, have purchased Al-jon Impact V car crushers, which feature the company’s Quad-Post Guide System. The system allows the crushing force to be equally distributed to the four corners of the crushing lid. “The stress is distributed equally across the guide posts, sliding guides and pivot lugs, giving the Impact V greater stability and durability,” according to Al-jon’s product literature. The machine also includes a cylinder locking system that reduces total set-up time to less than one minute, according to the company.
