AK Steel, Middletown, Ohio, has announced that it will increase prices for aluminum coatings by approximately 50 percent, effective with shipments on April 1, 2006. The premium is being added to AK Steel's current pricing extras for all aluminized carbon and stainless steel products.
The company says in a press release that "the increase is being made in order to recover the extraordinary rise in the cost of aluminum that is used to coat its aluminized steel sheet products."
AK Steel produces flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steel products, as well as carbon and stainless tubular steel products, for automotive, appliance, construction and manufacturing markets.
