Air-Trak Debuts Waste and Recycling Software

Software is designed to integrate several functions.

Air Trak, a San Diego-based software company, has launched a new software called WasteConnect, which it says is “developed specifically for the unique needs of the waste services industry.”

“The software is a Web-based solution [that] uses the latest Silverlight technology from Microsoft to incorporate the advantages of its delivered content with the speed of local processing,” says Air-Trak in its news release announcing the new product.

Air-Trak says WasteConnect was developed based on input from its waste industry customers and partners. “The software integrates with billing and operations software widely in use by the industry [that] automates and accelerates existing processes,” says the company.

The software “also carries forward the unique Air-Trak capability of unifying the tracking and data from the various in-vehicle devices, phones, Blackberries, laptops, and other smart phones,” says Air-Trak.

“The WasteConnect solution provides a new level of capability while simplifying the user interface,” says said Paul Washicko, CEO of Air-Trak. “Our drag and drop work order assignments are simple and intuitive and set us apart by combining sophisticated capability with elegant ease of use. Integration with our customers’ other software amplifies the benefits of the solution,” he adds.

Air-Trak provides GPS mobile resource management products to companies, municipalities, and the U.S. military. The company says its architecture, derived from military roots, incorporates a variety of GPS tracking and data collection devices such as embedded in-vehicle computers, phones, Blackberries and laptop computers.

Data from all of these devices are unified in one “software solution” designed to provide a comprehensive view and control of a customer’s mobile workforce and handle a variety of needs for a customer, says the company. More information on Air-Trak can be found at www.air-trak.com.
