Tigard, Oregon-based Agilyx has announced what it calls a collaborative agreement with Monroe Energy, a Trainer, Pennsylvania-based subsidiary of Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines Inc., to supply up to 2,500 barrels per day of the company’s synthetic fuel feedstock. Agilyx uses plastic scrap to produce the fuel product, which is registered as Agilyx Synthetic Crude Oil (ASCO).
Monroe will refine the ASCO into jet fuel that will be used by Delta. Agilyx plans to locate a production facility near Monroe’s refinery in the Philadelphia area.
“This is a capstone achievement for Agilyx,” says Joe Vaillancourt, CEO of the firm. “We are very excited to be working with Monroe Energy and Delta. As we advance the number and types of products we can make from waste plastics, this project marks the first truly commercial-scale facility that will advance the new plastics economy.”
