According to the most recent figures from the American Forest & Paper Association, July’s domestic consumption of recovered fiber stands at 2.7 million tons, a 4 percent increase from the prior month. Additionally, July’s total is a 9 percent increase from domestic consumption figures the same time last year.
Statistics from the AF&PA also note that domestic paper stock consumption over the first seven months of this year increased by 8 percent from figures the same time last year. Meanwhile, June’s paper stock exports declined by 4 percent from the previous month, while total recovered paper exports for the first six months of this year dipped 2 percent from the same time last year.
