
The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA), Washington, has announced the appointment of Lindsay Murphy as its executive director, strategic communications. Murphy will be responsible for leading the development and execution of AF&PA’s communications strategy in support of the association’s policy objectives.
“Lindsay has extensive communications experience from agencies and trade associations across multiple industries, and we’re excited to have her on board,” AF&PA President and CEO Donna Harman says. “Her background creating and executing complex strategic communications plans and public policy issue campaigns makes her a great addition to the AF&PA team.”
Murphy has more than 15 years of strategic communications experience. Most recently, she worked for Racepoint Global, where she served as a vice president focusing on earned media and digital advocacy for her clients. Having begun her career on Capitol Hill, she has held various positions directing public affairs strategy and outreach.
Murphy holds a master’s degree in strategic public relations from The George Washington University and currently serves on the National Press Club Board of Governors. She resides in Arlington, Virginia, with her husband and four children.
