AFPA Announces Elections

The American Forest and Paper Association announces a number of elections during its Paper Week program.

The American Forest & Paper Association elected a number of people to association committees. The following people have officially been elected:

H. Wayne Brafford, vice president and general manager of the Converting, Specialty and Pulp Division of International Paper, was elected chairman of the AFPA's Printing-Writing Paper Group and its Executive Committee. He succeeds Richard G. Verney, chairman & CEO of Monadnock Paper Mills, Inc.

Ian Millar, executive vice president, of MeadWestvaco Corp., was elected vice-chairman of the AF&PA Printing-Writing Paper Group and its executive committee.

Barry Chapman, Global sales manager of Kraft Paper, International Paper, was elected chairman of the AFPA's Kraft Paper Group Executive Committee.

Lee Luft, president and COO of CityForest Corp., was elected chairman of AF&PA Tissue Products Group Executive Committee.

George D. Jones III, president, Seaman Paper Company of Massachusetts, Inc., was elected chairman of AF&PA’s Pulp Consumers Executive Committee.

James L. Martin, senior vice president and manager, Sales and Customer Resources, Packaging Resources Group, MeadWestvaco, was elected chairman of AF&PA Bleached Paperboard Executive Committee.

David Southworth, president of the Southworth Co., was elected chairman of the AF&PA Cotton Fiber/Text & Cover Executive Committee. He succeeds outgoing chairman Daniel D. King, president & CEO of Fox River Paper Co.

Mark Starnes, vice president of Recycling for Weyerhaeuser Company, was elected vice-chairman of the AF&PA Recovered Fiber Executive Committee.
