The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA ), Washington, has released its July 2014 U.S. containerboard statistics report.
According to the AF&PA, for the month of July 2014 containerboard production was 2.7 percent higher than the month before but was flat compared with July 2013’s figure.
Meanwhile, additional capacity coming online resulted in a decline in the operating rate for July 2014 to 96.1 percent of capacity compared with June’s operating rate of 97.1 percent.
The AF&PA also released its paperboard report for the month of July. The association says total boxboard production increased by 2.8 percent when compared with July 2013 and increased 2.4 percent from the previous month.
Meanwhile, unbleached kraft boxboard production in July 2014 increased over July 2013 and compared with June 2014.
Total solid bleached boxboard and linerboard production also increased when compared with July 2013 and increased compared to June 2014.
Finally, the production of recycled-content boxboard in July 2014 decreased compared with July 2013, but increased when compared with June 2014.
