AF&PA Appoints New President and CEO

Donna A. Harman tapped to head association.

 

The Board of Directors of the American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) has announced the appointment of Donna A. Harman as the new president and CEO of the association.

 

Harman joined AF&PA in 2001 as vice president of congressional affairs. She was promoted to senior vice president of policy and governmental affairs in 2006, leading the association’s lobbying efforts. Harman has 25 years of management, policy and political experience, having worked for two Fortune 500 corporations and the U.S. House of Representatives.

 

In her capacity as senior vice president, Harman led an in-house team of lobbyists and policy experts representing the forest products industry in the media and before local, state, federal and international bodies, and was responsible for the development of the association’s policy and political strategy.

 

Harman holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Affairs from Anderson University and a law degree from American University’s Washington College of Law. She is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association, the American Society of Association Executives and the Society of Foresters. She also serves as secretary-treasurer of the Forest Products Industry National Labor Management Committee.
