AERT Starts Oklahoma Operation

Oklahoma DEQ signs off on project.

Advanced Environmental Recycling Technologies, Inc. announced that it has received final approval for the startup of AERT's new recycling facility in Watts, Okla., has been granted by the state’s Department of Environmental Quality.

AERT's new recycling facility met initial quality specifications. As required by permit conditions, AERT will complete a series of tests over the next few weeks and the company will verify compliance with nameplate capacity during that period.

AERT's new facility will allow the company to recover previously difficult to recycle polyethylene sources creating a much broader range of feed stocks for AERT's composite manufacturing plants in Arkansas.

"We are pleased that this vision is now becoming a commercial reality as AERT's composite business is beginning to gain additional sales momentum going into the decking season. The AERT team believes in the future of America and we are proud to move forward with this game changer project. The company's Green-age plastic recycling facility will soon become a worldwide example of Green manufacturing," says Joe Brooks, AERT’s CEO.

In an unrelated news announcement, the NASDAQ Stock Market announced that it will delist the common stock Class A of AERT.

The company’s stock was suspended on December 29, 2009.
