The David J. Joseph Co., Cincinnati, Ohio, (DJJ) has announced that five of its Advantage Metals Recycling (AMR) facilities have received the 2011 Corporate Safety Award from The Safety Council of the Ozarks, a regional branch of the National Safety Council. The criteria for the award are based on three years of AMR’s safety information compared to the industry averages.
AMR was formed in 1977 as Galamba Metals Group, headquartered in Kansas City. Galamba Metals was purchased and renamed Advantage Metals Recycling in 2008 and is wholly owned by DJJ. The five yards recognized are located in Emporia and Topeka, Kansas; and Clarence, Linn Creek and Kansas City, Mo.
The AMR facilities purchase both ferrous and nonferrous scrap.
