Advanced Technology Recycling (ATR), an electronics recycler based in Pontiac, Illinois, has announced that it plans to expand by adding a new facility in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The new Responsible Recycling- (R2-) certified facility is 30,000 square feet.
According to a news release from ATR, the company already has sites in Salt Lake City; Grand Rapids, Michigan; Las Vegas; San Antonio; Pontiac, Illinois; Buffalo, New York; and Birmingham, Alabama. The company says it plans to add more facilities in 2021.
ATR says the new Allentown facility will enable it to work with clients in D.C., Philadelphia, New York City and Baltimore.
“With this new site, we bring an expansive portfolio of certified IT asset disposition (ITAD) and electronics recycling services to both the Lehigh Valley and the expanding markets of the Northeast,” the company says of its expansion. “ATR will be the first company in the region to offer U.S. State Department-authorized International Traffic and Arms Regulations (ITAR) compliant destruction programs and General Service Administration- (GSA-) approved pricing discounts for all levels of governmental agencies that seek responsible and sustainable recycling and ITAD services.”
