Advanced Technology Recycling (ATR), an electronics recycler based in Pontiac, Illinois, has announced that it is expanding its fleet of vehicles by adding two new Mack semitrucks. With its 2021 objectives, the company reports that it realized its customers would benefit from additional cost-effective logistics services.
“The strategy is to not just work harder but to work smarter as well,” says Dave Ehresman, fleet manager for ATR. “The new 2020 AN64T Mack trucks will reduce maintenance costs and downtime while improving reliability and efficiency.”
Earlier this year, ATR had announced plans to open a 30,000-square-foot facility near Allentown, Pennsylvania, with plans to open another facility along the East Coast by the end of the year. According to a news release from ATR, the new facility and trucks will reduce its need for less-than-truckload carrier assistance and provide a secure chain of custody for assets under ATR’s information technology asset disposition (ITAD) management.
Additionally, the company says the designated drop-and-hook locations where ATR drivers can quickly exchange trailers along national logistics routes improve efficiency, reduce overhead and allow drivers to return home at night.
