Advanced Recycling Sciences Inc. announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has issued the company a patent titled ``Flexible Electrically Heated Tiles Made from Crumb Rubber.''
The patent covers the company's internally developed heated mat technology. With this technology, the company can produce flexible, heated, non-allergenic mats made of recycled crumb rubber. These mats can be conjoined and have sealed electrical connectors to allow for the creation of a continuous surface, which can be heated by a single connection to an electrical source.
The heating element may be operated using a variety of different electrical sources. This technology also allows for the surface temperature to be regulated as required.
The company plans to integrate the new patent into manufacturing its Poseidon Tire and Rubber Recycling Plant in Germany.Latest from Recycling Today
