Additional Speakers Lined Up for Conference

Three additional speakers have been added to the 3rd Annual Paper Recycling Conference and Trade Show. The program, to be held June 23-25 in New Orleans, already boasts a full line of top-notch speakers ready to discuss key topics for paper stock dealers.

For the struggling paper recycling industry, the difficult environment is creating opportunities outside the core paper handling segment of the industry. Three speakers will discuss moves they have taken to improve their bottom line while diversifying into tangential industries.

According to David Powelson, moderator of its panel and president of Tri-R Recycling, a Denver-based recycling facility, around 86 percent of paper recyclers are engaged in some type of diversification. These value added strategies offer a viable avenue of growth and offer an opportunity to reduce the impact of recycling business cycles and enhance return on investment.

Panelists scheduled to appear in this important session are the following: Cory Tomczyk, president, Industrial Recycling of Wisconsin, Mosinee, Wis. He will discuss laser and ink jet recycling and re-manufacturing.

Kerry Getter, president, Balcones Resources, Austin, Tex., will discuss partnering with major corporations to handle waste and recycling, including helping organizations reduce waste to zero, including converting waste paper into fuel.

Mike Tingle, president, DataGuard USA, Denver. The focus of his presentation will be on mobile and in-plant shredding. This niche market is expected to realize double digit growth.
