The ACS Group Companies: AEC Inc., Colortronic North America, Cumberland Engineering and Sterling will now offer an automated method of separating mixed plastic components for recovery and reuse. Eriez Magnetic’s PolyMag Additive and Process will be available through ACS Group’s sales engineers in the United States and Canada.
The PolyMag Additive & Process offers the automated recovery of manufacturing scrap and excess material for multi-material processors. To do this, 1 percent of the PolyMag additive is incorporated into one of the polymers prior to molding, similar to colorant, making this resin susceptible to the magnetic field produced in the PolyMag separator.
Scrap parts are run through a granulator allowing the PolyMag process to separate the mixed polymer regrind.
This process compliments ACS’ portfolio of plastics equipment that includes granulators, conveying & drying equipment, blenders, heating & cooling systems, additive feeders, automation solutions and total systems contracting.
ACS will also offer other Eriez products including metal detectors, grate & hopper magnets, bin vibrators and vibratory feeders.
Eriez manufactures equipment for magnetic, vibratory and metal detection applications.
