Peru-based electric arc furnace (EAF) steelmaker Corporación Aceros Arequipa S.A. has reported third quarter 2025 results showing increases in both revenue and net income compared with one year earlier.

The company's revenue grew by 7 percent and its net profit rose by more than 120 percent in this year’s third quarter compared with the July through September time frame in 2024.

Aceros Arequipa's sales within Peru and neighboring Bolivia rose year on year while steel sales to Brazil and Colombia were lower in this year’s third quarter compared with last year.

In a presentation accompanying its results, the steelmaking firm pointed to two metals recycling facilities it operates in Florida as part of its raw materials flexibility strategy.

It says the shredded and heavy melting steel (HMS) grades it ships from Florida to Peru offer higher quality and higher availability compared with some of its other recycled steel sources. Aceros Arequipa claims it is the No. 1 buyer of recycled steel in Peru, and mentions Bolivia and Chile as neighboring nations from which it sources ferrous scrap.

In its presentation, the company says steel rebar and wire rod comprise nearly two-thirds of its sales while it also produces merchant bars, round bars, steel tubes and nails.
