Access Information Management, Pleasanton, Calif., has announced the acquisition of NorCal Shred of Chico, Calif.
Access, which provides records management, storage and destruction services for hard copy and electronic records, says the acquisition will allow the company to strengthen its presence in the mobile document destruction business in Northern California.
“The NorCal Shred acquisition is very strategic for our Northern California operations as it increases our already significant market share in the area,” says Rob Alston, Access Information Management president of operations and business development. “This operation will be very quickly integrated into our Chico (California) operation, with previous owner and operator Charles Brooks joining our team as the Branch Manager in the market. NorCal Shred has an excellent service reputation and a track record of providing outstanding community support and we look forward to maintaining those commitments.”
Access says it will continue to provide mobile document destruction services throughout the Chico area, expanding the service offering to include hard copy records storage and management; computer media and vital records protection in a vault environment; secure plant-based document destruction and shredding services for all products including paper, plastic, electronic media and computer hard drives; and scanning and Web-based digital storage. Within 30 days, NorCal Shred will begin operating under the Access name.
