Accent Prevails in Patent Infringement Lawsuit

Accent Wire, Tomball, Texas, has announced that a federal court of appeals has found that Leggett and Platt’s Pinnacle Wire Tier infringes Accent’s U.S. Patent 7,373,877 (“’877 patent”). The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit reversed a district court decision and directed the court to enter summary judgment in favor of Accent Wire.

The ‘877 patent covers the design of the torque tube in the Accent 470 Wire Tier. The company says this torque tube is the heart of the Accent 470, performing the gripping, knotting, cutting, and wire ejection functions with a single unidirectional quarter-rotation.
