There is more downtime ahead for Abitibi-Consolidated's paper mill in Grand Falls-Windsor.
According to published reports, company spokesman Roger Pike says one of the plant's paper machines will be shut down for two weeks on Aug. 26. Another machine will stop making paper for one week on Sept. 1.
Pike says sales of newsprint remain sluggish and the company anticipates more downtime later in the fall.
In total, the mill will have taken about eight weeks of downtime this year.Latest from Recycling Today
