The National Association for Information Destruction (NAID), Phoenix, has announced the results of its annual Board of Directors elections, which were conducted at the NAID 2010 Annual Conference and Exposition held in Las Vegas in early March.
Ray Barry of Total Product Destruction Inc., Spartanburg, S.C., has been elected to the office of president-elect, putting him in line to become NAID’s president in 2011. Scott Fasken of Colorado Document Security, Palisades, Colo., has been elected to the office of secretary. Tim Oberst of Ohio Mobile Shredding, Columbus, Ohio, is now NAID’s past president and Ken Williams of Shred Authority, Chicago, is in the midst of a two-year term as treasurer.
NAID members also selected three new directors: Guy Appleman of Black Dog Shredding, Albuquerque, N.M.; Les Etscheidt of Document Destruction and Recycling, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Lloyd Williams of Shredall Ltd., Nottingham, United Kingdom. Each will serve a two-year term and join the other three current directors: Tom Huth of Allshred Services Inc., Toledo, Ohio; Renee Keener of American Document Securities, Carrolton, Ga.; and Jarret Silagyi of Cintas Document Management, Mason, Ohio.
“The organization owed all of the candidates a debt of gratitude for giving members such a great field of qualified industry professionals to choose from,” says NAID President Jim Beran of Shred Right, Minneapolis, in announcing the results at the annual conference. Beran, who assumed the office of the NAID presidency at the event after serving as the president-elect for the past year, added “those who ran but were not elected are just as critical to the future of the organization as those who were elected” and stated that “the organization will continue to look for their active participation in shaping NAID’s future.”
Remarks NAID Executive Director Bob Johnson, “These elections should serve as a strong reminder that the organization is run by members and for members. It should be comforting to know that the people setting NAID’s course wake up every day facing the same challenges as all industry participants.”
A complete list of all NAID board of directors, including contact information, is available on the page titled “Leadership” on the NAID Web site, www. www.naidonline.org, as is a list of all staff members and NAID committee members.
NAID is a non-profit, international trade organization serving more than 1,400 secure destruction industry member locations worldwide. The association’s purpose is “to promote the secure destruction of discarded information and to encourage the use of qualified service providers to meet that obligation.”
