Waste Management will be hosting free electronics recycling events at eight locations in Oregon through the end of July. The events are scheduled for the cities of Gold Beach, Lakeview, Burns, John Day, Heppner, Moro, Madras, and Hood River.
The events are part of Oregon E-Cycles, a program implemented by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality and financed by electronics manufacturers. Oregon E-Cycles allows individuals to recycle seven computers, monitors and/or television sets at a time, at no cost. Households, small businesses and small non-profits may recycle more than seven items free of charge.
Electronics collected at these events will be processed at Waste Management facilities that are ISO 14001 and 9001 certified.
