The order comprises a variety of pulping, screening, and cleaning equipment necessary to convert OCC and mixed paper into corrugating medium.
The Thermo Black Clawson equipment will be installed at Weyerhaeuser's Valliant, Okla., mill, which produces approximately 1.2 million tons of corrugating medium and linerboard per year. The order is scheduled to be shipped in the second half of this year.
``This order represents a major capital investment that will result in numerous operational and financial benefits for the customer,'' said William A. Rainville, president and CEO, Thermo Fibertek, Thermo Black Clawson's parent company. ``With this system in place, Weyerhaeuser will be able to produce liner, medium, and boxes that meet its high standards for quality, strength, and durability, and contain higher recycled-fiber content.''
