The annual Paper, Plastics and Electronics Recycling Conferences & Trade Show, which is organized by Recycling Today’s parent company GIE Media Inc., Richfield, Ohio, not only provide participants with current information on what’s happening in each of these recycling industry sectors, but also provide a venue where processors, traders and consumers can meet, make deals and form lasting business relationships.
The events feature a number of networking opportunities designed to encourage interaction among attendees across each industry sector as well as a series of workshops that appeal to all recyclers, regardless of their primary focus.
The combined exhibit hall includes nearly 60 exhibitors showcasing the newest products and services for the recycling industry. Monday’s Highlights
Plastics Recycling Conference registrants have the opportunity to attend a session titled "The Real Thing" Monday, June 23. Guest speakers include John Burgess, Coca-Cola Recycling; Ron Gonen, Recyclebank; and Gerry Fishbeck, United Resource Recovery Corp.
Electronics Recycling Conference registrants are also invited to attend a session June 23 titled "Playing in the Major Leagues." Speakers include Joe Aho, Waste Management/Recycle America; Douglas Smith, Sony Electronics Inc.; Patrick Summers, NEC Display Solutions of America; and Joe Strathmann, Dell Inc.
Tuesday’s Highlights
On Tuesday, June 24, those registered for the paper track will want to attend the session titled "How Green is My Footprint." Moderator Joel Litman, Texas Recycling and Surplus, and guest speakers Kerry Getter of Balcones Resources and Vera Fischer of Blue Show Marketing will discuss how the growing environmental movement provides opportunities for paper recyclers.

Moderator Bio: Joel Litman, Texas Recycling/Surplus Inc.
Joel Litman is the president and co-owner of Texas Recycling/Surplus Inc., Dallas. He started the company along with his brother Craig and their (now deceased) father Stan in 1992. The Litmans also manage document destruction firm Action Shred of Texas.
Joel entered the recycling industry in 1984 when he joined his father at Daltex Waste Material Co. after leaving the public relations/advertising/communications fields.

Speaker Bio: Gerry Fishbeck, United Resource Recovery Corp.
Gerry Fishbeck is vice president of United Resource Recovery Corp. and a member of the board of directors of NURRC LLC, the PET recycling joint venture with The Coca-Cola Co.
Prior to joining URRC, Fishbeck received an MBA from the University of South Carolina and was vice president of recycling and business development for Wellman Inc. He has 34 years of experience in the PET and recycling industries.
Attendees can hear Fishbeck speak Monday, June 23, at the Plastics Conference session titled "The Real Thing."
Moderator Bio: Joe Clayton, Synergy Recycling LLC
Joe Clayton has been active in solid waste and recycling issues for almost 20 years. He joined Synergy in September 2003 and since has helped increase the company’s tonnage recycled by 10 times while increasing its workforce by six times.
Prior to joining Synergy, Clayton worked in municipal government. He also founded an environmental and economic consulting company in West Virginia that focused on solid waste and recycling issues.
Attendees can hear Clayton moderate Tuesday, June 24, at the Electronics Recycling session titled "Country Roads: Rural and Small Market Recycling Options."
