You’ve likely noticed some changes with Storage & Destruction Business as 2015 gets underway. First off, we’ve moved from a bimonthly print schedule to a quarterly one, which means that instead of receiving six issues of SDB this year, you will receive four: Winter (this issue), Spring, Summer and Fall. However, our e-newsletter will continue to be delivered to your inboxes every-other week throughout the year, helping to keep you up to date on the news affecting the records and information management (RIM) industry as it develops. Therefore, if you don’t already subscribe to our e-newsletter, I suggest you visit www.SDBmagazine.com/signup and add your email address to our distribution list. For those of you who like the articles in our magazine, we’ll occasionally include some feature-length stories in these newsletters as well. (You might have noticed two such articles in our Jan. 15 e-newsletter.) Getting back to our print edition, we’ve included a new department, Addendum, that debuts in this issue on page 34. Addendum continues my conversation with the subject of our cover story in each issue; however, we get personal, giving you a glimpse of what inspires and brings joy to the men and women behind the companies on our covers because there is more to life than running a company, after all. (For our Winter issue, we talk with Willie Geiser of Allshred Services, Maumee, Ohio. The profile of Allshred begins on page 14.) Finally, those of you who also subscribe to Recycling Today, a sister publication to SDB, are now receiving your issue of SDB polybagged with Recycling Today. This move allows us to take advantage of certain efficiencies, but I won’t bore you with the details of periodicals postage. Like you, we need to mind our bottom line, and this move helps to ensure we have more black ink than red in our ledger. The Recycling Today Media Group also launched a new product in late January that SDB readers may find of interest: The Direct Current, our e-newsletter geared toward electronics recyclers and refurbishers and ITAD (IT asset disposition) companies. This monthly e-newsletter features news items and articles addressing issues of interest to companies involved in recycling or refurbishing electronics. You can subscribe to this e-newsletter by visiting www.RecyclingToday.com/signup. That should catch you up with the changes affecting SDB as we enter 2015, which I hope is a prosperous one for all of you. |
