Battery Solutions Inc. (BSI) was founded in 1991 by current owner and CEO Chris Sova. The company started out recycling lead acid batteries but branched out in the 1990s by collecting all types of spent batteries. BSI operates out of two facilities: one in Howell, Mich., and the other in Mesa, Ariz.
BSI specializes in helping government, private business and households recycle every type of battery and all other universal waste. Its founder sought to help protect companies from the liability involved in mismanaging their spent lead acid batteries for recycling as well as to divert dry-cell batteries from landfills.
Jeremy Sova, vice president of BSI, tells Recycling Today more about the company below.
Q: What makes you different from your competitors?
A: Unlike other battery recyclers who use high-temperature metal recovery, BSI uses an advanced technology room-temperature battery recycling process that has low emissions and high material recovery rates.

A: BSI is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service while offering premium battery recycling services nationwide.

A: BSI would like to continue being a leader in the battery recycling industry and maintain growth through innovation and technology.
BSI processes approximately 50 million pounds of batteries annually nationwide.
