KODAK I700 SERIES SCANNERS
The i730 and i750 scanners join Rochester, N.Y.-based Kodak’s line of mid- to high-volume production capture devices. Kodak says the scanners can deliver image quality of 300 dots per inch (DPI) at 200 DPI speeds. Assisted by the automated image correction features provided by Kodak’s Perfect Page Imaging Technology, the i700 Series scanners are designed to deliver digital images with accuracy and quality and to enable users to employ optical character recognition and other intelligent detection features to cut down on document processing and costs. The i730 and i750 scanners offer throughput speeds of up to 90 pages per minute and 115 pages per minute, respectively. The scanners’ automated feeding technology is designed to reduce document sorting to facilitate capturing mixed batches of documents. Other features include duplex scanning, automatic page orientation based on content, image cropping and blank-page detection. Visit www.kodak.com/go/docimaging for more information.
SEM MAG ERASURE ME-P3 DEGAUSSER
Security Engineered Machinery (SEM), Westboro, Mass., has introduced the Mag EraSURE ME-P3 degausser, which it claims is three-times faster than earlier models and up to six-times faster than pulse-type degaussers. The ME-P3 removes confidential/sensitive information from computer hard drives, tapes and other magnetic media. It complies with Department of Defense requirements for destroying magnetically recorded data and is National Security Agency-approved for LMR and PMR drives. The Mag EraSURE ME-P3 can be operated continuously because its patented array of permanent rare-earth magnets does not generate heat as electromagnetic degaussers do.
