Allegheny Shredders Product & E-Scrap Shredders
Allegheny Shredders, Delmont, Pa., has introduced the Product & E-Scrap Shredder line. The shredders offer "crush and shred" destruction of items ranging from digital media, electronics, electrical components and hard drives to small appliances and office equipment, according to the company. Product & E-Scrap Shredders are available in four models: the 163DX, which is capable of processing 750 to 1,500 pounds per hour; the 3025DX, which can process 1 to 2 tons per hour; the 3650DX, which processes 4 to 8 tons per hour; and the 52125DX, which can process 8 to 12 tons per hour. Feed openings range from 16 inches to 52 inches. The 163DX produces a 1-inch particle size, while the 52125DX produces a 2-inch output. The shredders use two separate drive shafts powered by individual motors of different horsepower as well as individual precision-ground cutters. SEM Data Dis-Guard
The Data Dis-Guard (DDG) cabinet from Security Engineered Machinery (SEM) is designed to provide secure storage of discarded sensitive material that is awaiting destruction. The container resembles a filing cabinet and features a drawer with a slot through which documents, microfilm and even rejected parts can be deposited. The interior of the Data Dis-Guard is equipped with a heavy-duty canvas bag inside a locked compartment that can only be accessed by authorized key holders. Tamper-resistant features include a padlock hasp on the cabinet door, interior hinges and hidden locking pins that hold the contents inside even if the cabinet is tipped over. The canvas bag includes handles to facilitate transfer to the shredder.
