SIERRA SHEAR/BALER/LOGGER

Sierra International Machinery has introduced the new Sierra 630 ton Shear/Baler/Logger. This new scrap metal processing machine is bigger, heavier and more efficient than other models, according to the company. The T630 is powered by two 100 horsepower electric motors and has a cutting force of 630 tons. The 20-foot compression box has three hydraulic cylinders on each side and a force of 240 tons per side. The hold-down clamp has 143 tons of force.

PAT CRANE LOAD INDICATOR

PAT Equipment Corp. offers the new EI33 Crane Load Indicator that continuously displays the load on the hook. The EI33 indicator gives the operator the information needed to operate the crane closer to its maximum capacity. The load is sensed with a Running Line Tensiometer, and the system is prewired and designed with SAE J379 and the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers standards for load indication.

LABOUNTY GRAPPLE

LaBounty Manufacturing has introduced a new addition to its line of RGS rotating grapples. The new model, the 193 RGS, is a high-volume scrap grapple that can handle up to 6.5 cubic yards. RGS grapples are used primarily for scrap, wood and other material handling operations in a recycling yard type setting where continuous, heavy-duty cycling is necessary. The working portion of the grapple consists of the rotator and two grapple halves which bypass into one another. The 193 RGS is designed for 160,000- to 210,000-pound class excavators/scrap handlers.

MORBARK SHREDDER

Morkark’s E-Z Recycler Model 4000 shredder is built to process a wide range of wood and organic waste. The unit produces a consistently-sized end product while processing yard waste, trees, demolition debris, construction waste, cutoffs, mill waste and pallet material. The shredder is compact enough to be transported with a pickup truck and is especially effective in tight quarters and populated areas. Flow of material to the recycling drum is managed with an infeed hopper equipped with a live chain bed and large diameter top feed wheel. Material can be hand fed or dumped in the hopper with a loader.

PRODEVA CAN CRUSHER

Prodeva has a new Model 108 can Crusher that is compact, durable and quiet, according to the company. The mobile crusher comes with its own stand and casters for ease of movement during relocation or cleaning. It will crush 12- or 16-ounce cans to one-forth of their original size. The crusher weighs 65 pounds and operates using standard 115 volt current.

GRANUTECH CHIPPER

A new chipper from Granutech-Saturn Systems, a division of MAC Corp., is designed primarily for pre-granulation applications. Called “The Grizzly,” the chipper is available in two models – the 300-horsepower Model 80, and the 400-horsepower Model 96. Each model can be configured, through adjustment in screen size, to create product in one-half-inch minus or larger. Although throughputs vary according to model and material being processed, production rates as high as 16,000 pounds per hour are possible, according to the company.

CATERPILLAR SCRAP HANDLER

The new Caterpillar 350 MH scrap handler has a three-piece front for a maximum reach of 56 feet and 3 inches from the swing center. The front draws power from Caterpillar-built hydraulic cylinders. Also, the cab riser is at 6 feet 5 inches, giving the operator good visibility when loading or unloading material, and the model has a wide track undercarriage of 10 feet 11 inches for steady maneuverability. In addition, the handler comes with a proportional priority pressure compensated valve that automatically proportions flow so that all functions proceed smoothly and predictably.

AMERICAN BALER H SERIES

The American Baler Co. has improved its baler design with a new free-floating extrusion chamber design available on its 6042 Series baler. Called the “H” style extrusion chamber, it has proven to maximize tension force and ram pressure to produce denser bales that are uniform and easy to handle and ship. The large hydraulic cylinder on the top of the chamber compresses bales, while the lever action of the twin arms on the side mechanically squeeze the bales from both sides.

FUCHS MATERIAL HANDLER

Fuchs GmbH has introduced the new MHL 330 – a purpose-built scrap lifting machine ideally suited to operating in close-quarter working conditions around the yard. The MHL 330 features a special elevating cab design that allows the operator to see into trucks and hoppers while loading or unloading material. The 330 also incorporates a unique rear house boom mounting geometry that allows a lifting capacity of 6,160 pounds at a full reach of 35 feet. Maximum lifting capacity of the MHL 330 scrap handler is 24,200 pounds. The mobile wheeled handler also has a tight turning radius of only 23 feet.
