Grasan Glass Recycling Plant

Heavy-duty glass recycling plants from Grasan are available in standard and custom-engineered designs. The plants are capable of producing up to 40 tons per hour of “clean, furnace-ready” minus ¾-inch cullet made from bottles and jars. Grasan bills itself as the largest maker of cullet recycling plants, and currently has more than 30 systems in operation throughout the U.S. The systems include prescreen and final screening stations and a specially designed impact crusher.

Al-Jon 500 Logger

The 500 Logger from Al-jon Inc. is a portable, single operator machine that can process entire car bodies as well as loose sheet, loose tin and white goods. The curved box baling chamber opens eight feet wide by 16-1/2 feet long, allowing for the compression of whole car bodies. The chamber is loaded, then each of two lids providing 150 tons of folding force are closed, combining with the force of the ram cylinder to compress the material. The 90,000-pound machine can process up to 25 car bodies in one hour.

John Deere High-Lift Wheel Loader

The high-lift wheel loader option from John Deere Construction Equipment Co., popular with recyclers, is now available directly from the factory. The factory installation option should decrease delivery time to high-lift option buyers, according to the company. The extended reach option is available on the John Deere 444H, 544H, 624H, and 744H models. Among the advantages gained with the high-lift option, according to the company, are the ability to work closer to hoppers and conveyor belts, a reduction in damage to trucks and rail cars, and the ability to stockpile material in higher piles.

Namco Model 6 and 8C Forklifts

Schaeff Inc. has introduced the Namco Model 6 and Model 8C forklifts. The compact models are being marketed toward businesses working from smaller, older locations with low clearances and confined spaces. The Namco lifts have lifting capacities ranging from 925 pounds to 1,212 pounds.

An elevated cab is one of several features improving operational efficiency at the Macon County Solid Waste Management agency in North Carolina. When it comes to waste management, efficiency, safety and reliability are priorities driving decisions from day one, according to staff members of the Macon County Solid Waste Management Department in western North Carolina. The agency operates a recycling plant in a facility originally designed to bale incoming materials. More recently, the building has undergone significant transformations centered around one machine: a SENNEBOGEN telehandler (telescopic handler).

The M312 and M315 Wheel Excavators from Caterpillar Inc. have been designed to be highly mobile and versatile. The pneumatic-tired machines can travel up to 21 mph and are powered by the 113 hp Caterpillar 3054 engine. Both models are available in several boom and stick combinations, and Caterpillar offers several work tools that are compatible with the machines.

Finlay Hydrascreen 693 Supertrak

The self-propelled 693 Supertrak by Finlay Hydrascreens is a large-volume self-contained mobile screen. The 693 Supertrak is designed for recycling, demolition waste, crushed stone, sand, gravel and topsoil applications. The high mobility, high production unit features a 5 feet by 20 feet twin-deck screen, a high-capacity belt-feed hopper, and three hydraulically folding discharge conveyors. A single or double-deck vibrating grid with a sizing option is available. Power is supplied by a 100 hp water-cooled diesel engine.
