
CieTrade software for waste brokers. Stamford, Connecticut-based cieTrade Systems Inc. has launched a solution designed to meet the challenges and specialized needs of waste management companies and trash brokers. The software:
- features account management, service and equipment tracking, dispatching, customer billing and reconciliation of hauler invoices
- easily handles mill-direct brokerage of recycled material
- supports a variety of billing arrangements, including service markups, management fees and shared savings, with performance benchmarks
- automatically calculates estimated fuel surcharges and taxes

Herbold Model SMS granulator. North Smithfield, Rhode Island-based Herbold USA, a subsidiary of Germany-based Herbold Meckesheim, has announced the availability of a new force-fed granulator for size reduction of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles. The Model SMS 100/160-9-2 SB3 features:
- a rotor that is 20 percent larger than current offerings
- throughput rates of up to 7 tons per hour
- a patented screw-fed mechanism that uses three vertically mounted feeding screws
- unique knife geometry provides a double cross-cutting action

McNeilus Latitude Integration system. McNeilus Truck & Manufacturing Inc., Dodge Center, Minnesota, has released the Latitude Integration residential collection system. Meridian front loaders with Latitude Integration are designed to connect with any brand of front-loading residential container. Features include:
- McNeilus CODE (Controls on Demand Environment) and an in-cab controls display to monitor activated functions
- a simplified sensor system on the body, arms and forks, external to the hydraulic cylinders
- Auto Level, which levels the container during the dump cycle

- an atomized mist design with a range of 328 feet and the ability to deliver 140,000 square feet of coverage area
- a 480-volt, 150-kilowatt generator with a 6.8-liter John Deere Tier III flex diesel engine, all mounted on a roadworthy dual-axle trailer with stabilizing jacks
- can be specified with a high-lift pump for drawing water from a stationary source, such as a private pond
- a 150-gallon fuel tank, providing about 32 hours of run time
- doors equipped with hinges and door stops designed for easy access

An elevated cab is one of several features improving operational efficiency at the Macon County Solid Waste Management agency in North Carolina. When it comes to waste management, efficiency, safety and reliability are priorities driving decisions from day one, according to staff members of the Macon County Solid Waste Management Department in western North Carolina. The agency operates a recycling plant in a facility originally designed to bale incoming materials. More recently, the building has undergone significant transformations centered around one machine: a SENNEBOGEN telehandler (telescopic handler).
