Plastics Industry Association accepts submissions for Sustainability Innovation Awards

Winners will be recognized at the 2020 Re|focus Sustainability and Recycling Summit in Cincinnati.

The Plastics Industry Association (Plastics), Washington, has opened submissions for its second annual Re|focus Sustainability Innovation Awards. Winners will be recognized during the 2020 Re|focus Sustainability and Recycling Summit May 18 – 20 at the Duke Energy Convention Center in Cincinnati.

These awards will highlight the companies and organizations that are spearheading innovations in sustainability and recycling, according to the association. Submissions are being accepted in the Design, Materials and End of Life categories. The winners of two additional awards, The Leadership Innovation Award and The People’s Choice Award, will be announced at Re|focus. Those interested in submitting an innovation can review competition details and access the nomination form online.

“The Sustainability Innovation Awards at Re|focus have become a meaningful way to celebrate and highlight the industry innovation that is advancing sustainability initiatives,” says Plastics Vice President of Sustainability Kim Holmes. “In 2020, we’ll again honor the award winners as part of the summit program and serve as a vehicle to spark conversations amongst attendees. The Re|focus experience is all about engagement, exchanging ideas and developing strategies that drive change, these awards are a key part of that.”

Last year, the winners for the inaugural Re|focus Sustainability Innovation Awards included Dell for Materials, Tarkett for Design, Circular Polymers/Broadview Group for End of Life, UBQ Materials for Leadership in Innovation and iMFLUX for People's Choice.

“The Re|focus Sustainability Innovation Awards provided an incredible opportunity to showcase our capabilities and be recognized by our peers,” says iMFLUX CEO Mary Wagner. “We are proud of creating technology that provides a benefit to the industry’s sustainability challenges and of our employees who are pioneering new solutions every day.”
