FERROUS PROCESSING & TRADING CO.
Howard Sherman has been appointed as president and COO of Ferrous Processing & Trading Co., Detroit, according to a report in American Metal Market. Sherman had been the president of K Scrap Resources Ltd., Windsor, Canada. Sherman is also the second vice president of the Canadian Association of Recycling Industries (CARI).
SVEDALA INDUSTRIES
Robert Stepanek has announced his retirement from Svedala Industries after 39 years of service. Stepanek’s responsibilities have included design, engineering and application work for the “Bulldog” hammermill shredders. He also is the holder and co-holder of several patents related to this equipment and has been involved with the design and engineering of hammermills, jaw crushers, wobble feeders and equipment used in rock crushing and quarry operations.

Stanley LaBounty, Two Harbors Minn., has made several executive appointments, including:
METALMAKER ADDS EXECUTIVES TO TEAM
MetalMaker Inc. has added Ken Gillig as chief technology and development officer and Allen Wolf as vice president of strategic alliances. Gillig will be responsible for the development of MetalMaker systems and internal information systems operations and management. Wolf will be developing strategic alliances. He has experience in energy services with Enron and Exxon.
STACK TO JOIN NAPCOR
The National Association for PET Container Resources (NAPCOR) has announced E. Gifford Stack will join the organization to serve as director of immediate consumption container recycling, based in Santa Fe, N.M.
Prior to joining NAPCOR, Stack served as vice president of environmental affairs for the National Soft Drink Association (NSDA), Washington. He has held other recycling industry positions, including developing scrap paper recovery systems and directing the glass industry’s national recycling programs.
Gifford Stack is an outstanding addition to our staff,” says Luke Schmidt, president of NAPCOR. “During the past several months, NAPCOR and NSDA have been working closely together to develop recycling programs which target immediate consumption containers.”
