PLASTICON TO SUPPLY R&S MANUFACTURING
Plasticon International Inc. has announced that it has signed a contract to supply R&S Manufacturing with nearly $500,000 of recycled plastic rebar supports, which are made from a proprietary blend of resins to achieve the structural integrity required.
"We believe that this deal, combined with our existing contract with the largest distributor of building materials in the U.S., will give Plasticon the ability to dominate our sector," says Jim Turek, president and CEO of Lexington, Ky.-based Plasticon International.
Turek adds that it’s significant to see R&S Manufacturing moving towards recycled plastic rebar supports, adding that it "will have a major impact in our industry in terms of the acceptance of recycled plastic rebar supports as the industry standard."
Plasticon designs, produces and distributes concrete accessories, transportation signage, plastic lumber and office supplies from recycled and recyclable plastics.

SENNEBOGEN 340G telehandler improves the view in Macon County, NC
An elevated cab is one of several features improving operational efficiency at the Macon County Solid Waste Management agency in North Carolina. When it comes to waste management, efficiency, safety and reliability are priorities driving decisions from day one, according to staff members of the Macon County Solid Waste Management Department in western North Carolina. The agency operates a recycling plant in a facility originally designed to bale incoming materials. More recently, the building has undergone significant transformations centered around one machine: a SENNEBOGEN telehandler (telescopic handler).
MBA Polymers owns 51 percent of the joint venture, called MBA Polymers - Austria - Kunststoffverarbeitung GmbH, while MG owns 49 percent. The plant will process highly mixed plastics from durable goods.
MBA has partnered with Guangzhou Iron and Steel Enterprises to build a similar plant, which opens in August, in Guangzhou, China.
