PLASTICS
NPE NAMES OFFICIAL PLASTICS RECYLER
The Society of the Plastics Industry has selected Maine Plastics Inc., North Chicago, Ill., as "Official Recycler of NPE 2003," the major plastics industry trade show taking place June 23-27 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.
The processor and distributor of secondary resins will team up with environmental education training company Eco Educators, Columbus, Ohio, to collect scrap generated by NPE exhibitors.
Maine Plastics and Eco Educators collected more than 350,000 pounds of plastics at NPE 2000, recycling it at Maine Plastics’ 200,000-square foot processing plant.
"We are hoping to involve 100 percent of the exhibitors who generate scrap and increase the percentage of materials collected and recycled at NPE 2003," Robert Render, president of Maine Plastics, says.
