SWINGER ROUGH TERRAIN FORKLIFT
The Swinger 1600 rough terrain forklift truck can handle delicate loads as well as heavy-duty loads weighing up to 1,600 pounds at an operating load center of 24 inches. The machine’s maximum lift height is 10-1/2 feet. Swinger touts the articulated four-wheel drive lift as being compact and maneuverable. It is powered by a 32-horsepower, four-cylinder Kubota diesel engine. The operating weight is 4,500 pounds and the length of the machine is 97.5 inches (without forks).
JOHN DEERE MODEL 80 EXCAVATOR
The John Deere 80 excavator replaces the company’s 190E model. The new model is powered by a 55-net horsepower engine, with a variable-flow, open-center hydraulic system. The John Deere 80 has an operating weight of 16,600 pounds.
AWP STACKABLE CONTAINERS
AWP Industries Inc. is offering stackable corrugated steel bulk containers that are ideal for storing, handling and shipping scrap metal items. The largest single container can hold up to 6,000 pounds. The containers are built with a 4-way forklift entry and are made in variety of dimensions, including 40 inches by 48 inches by 33 inches high, and 45 inches by 48 inches by 33 inches high. Built out of 14-gauge steel, the containers feature a hinged, one-half drop door on the long side for loading and unloading.
METAL SORTING BOOK
Basic Metal Sorting is the newest publication from Infra-Net Publishing. The book offers techniques for recognizing and sorting scrap items (including radiators) made from brass, copper, aluminum, nickel alloys and several other metals. The publication also offers overviews of equipment used during spark testing and other sorting methods. The book, which is available for less than $10, includes more than 40 photos.
BILT-RITE H-400 CONVEYOR
The H-400 horizontal slide bed belt conveyor from Bilt-Rite Conveyors Inc. is ideal for companies with multiple uses for its conveyors. Users can add or subtract sections to lengthen or shorten the system. The H-400 is available in width sizes ranging from 12 inches to 42 inches. Standard section lengths are six, eight and ten feet long. Standard belts are made of white PVC and are available in widths from eight inches to 36 inches.
HYTROL HBC CONVEYOR
The Model HBC is a belt curve conveyor from the Hytrol Conveyor Co. Inc. The curve is available in widths from 10 inches to 48 inches at a 90-degree turn configuration. The company plans to make 45-degree and 180-degree models available soon. The maximum load capacity per linear foot is 40 pounds.
HOSOKAWA 2441 GRANULATOR
Hosokawa Polymer Systems is now offering the 2441 granulator, which features a hydraulic elevating feed chute system. A hydraulically-operated trough is positioned horizontally for pipe loading and lifts 38 degrees to become the feed chute. The machine is designed to handle long, large-diameter, thick-wall PVC pipe and other objects that can be awkward to granulate. The 2441 features a 24-inch side-feed opening, a 24-inch by 41-inch cutting chamber, a 150 horsepower motor, and an oversized rotor with a rotor knife configuration.
FAIRBANKS BENCH SCALE
A scale with a 24-inch by 24-inch stainless steel platform is the newest in the Eclipse 5000 series from Fairbanks Scales. The new model, with its heavy stainless steel, is equipped to withstand abusive environments and handle heavy capacities. The pillar yoke has been strengthened to endure that the taller pillar will remain stable while operating activity is indicated. The open-platformed Eclipse 5000 is available with a wheel kit accessory for greater portability.
APEX SELF-DUMPING HOPPER
Self-dumping hoppers are now available in 11 heavy duty sizes and five light duty sizes from Apex Bulk Handlers. The company says the hoppers are a fast, reliable low-cost method of collecting, storing and transporting scrap materials. The heavy-duty sizes range in capacities from ¼-cubic yard to five cubic yards, while the light-duty hoppers hold up to three cubic yards.
