Excel Manufacturing named Harold Pharoah sales manager for the Midwest Region.
The Virginia Recycling Association elected the following officers: Dori Brown, Newport News, president; Michael Benedetto, Tidewater Fibre Corp., vice president; Kathryn Sherwood, Wintergreen Resort, secretary; and Mark Worten, Canusa Corp., treasurer.
Current board members include Cyril Sellers, Stuart Cohn, Benji Brackman, Fritz Franke, and Charles Poland.
Plainwell Tissue named Bryan Griffin vice president of finance. Plainwell Tissue is the consumer products division of Plainwell Inc. Griffin will have full responsibility for the financial and accounting functions at all Plainwell Tissue locations. The mills are in Ransom, Pa.; Pittston, Pa.; and Eau Claire, Wis.
Georgia-Pacific announced a number of other organizational changes:
Steve Arendsen, director – marketing and business development, for the containerboard group has been promoted to director – marketing, for all of containerboard and packaging.
Tom Oller, manager of G-P's Packaging Technology and Development Center, has been promoted to director – technology and product development for containerboard and packaging group. He will continue to manage the technology center. Oller will have oversight responsibility for the containerboard technical services.
