Beyond the Present
NAID looks ahead while also working in the present.
Everyone is familiar with the adage that it is difficult to see the forest for the trees. Of course, the point is that it is hard to see the big picture when engulfed by daily details.
Service providers live in the immediate economic and sales environment. In fact, I would go so far as to say their recent past experience has more to do with their outlook on industry opportunities and their planning than what they feel they know about the future.
NAID also deals with real-time, real-world industry conditions. The NAID board reflects the average secure destruction company, and each member faces the reality of today’s business environment every day. But NAID also has to deal with the industry’s future. To do that, we track legislation around the world, we advocate for regulations that improve the business environment for our members and we look for ways to prepare our members for the future.
Another adage comes to mind as well: "You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink." NAID will do its best to keep an eye on the present and future. It is up to you to take advantage of it.
