MSS Inc. moves to larger facility

New location for CP Group’s optical sorting division includes testing and demonstration area.

MSS Inc., the optical sorting division of San Diego-based CP Group, has relocated its manufacturing facility to a larger building less than 4 miles away from its previous location in Nashville, Tennessee.

“This move was a necessary one,” says Greg Thibado, vice president of MSS Inc. “Our new facility is more than twice as large as our previous location. The additional space provides us with a larger production area and a larger R&D lab, allowing us to further refine our products and technologies moving forward.”

The new facility includes a testing and demonstration area where potential customers are able to see the newest MSS equipment in action. The new location also offers more warehousing space for parts storage and dock configurations that allow for overhead crane use.

“We are very pleased to make this transition,” says Thibado. “MSS has built a reputation for being the leader in the optical sorting industry. In our new facility, we aim to continue this trajectory by developing even more new technologies and exploring new applications.”

MSS Inc., founded in 1974, offers a range of products, including high-resolution sensors such as the CIRRUS™ for near infrared material sorting, the L-VIS™ for color and shape separation and the MetalSort™ for separating metals.

The company’s optical sorting systems are used to separate plastics, paper, glass, metals, wood, electronic scrap and other materials.
