MikaCycle launches digital recycled plastics marketplace

The marketplace enables members to receive product samples.

MikaCycle, a startup recycled plastic trading platform firm based in Paris, has launched a digital, recycled plastics marketplace. The marketplace features the option for product sampling as well as a premium subscription option for exclusive content and additional benefits. Some additional benefits of the premium subscription option include increased supplier information and unlimited messaging and trading.

According to a news release from MikaCycle, the marketplace was designed following research with more than 200 recyclers and brands with the goal of addressing pain points faced by participants in the plastics marketplace worldwide.

“The difficulties of sourcing recycled plastics reliably and cost effectively have tremendously slowed down the much needed adoption of recycled materials as a viable alternative to virgin plastics,” says Najlaa El Abbassi, CEO of MikaCycle. “MikaCycle has now come up with a credible product to address these issues.”

MikaCycle’s digital marketplace allows plastics producers to trade a range of recycled materials with verified shipping documents and protected payment methods. The company says premium members can receive access to vetted companies’ user profiles, with additional background information on suppliers, contact numbers and emails. Premium members also receive unlimited trading and messaging with vetted suppliers and access to MikaCycle Product and Pricing reports. The marketplace also gives all MikaCycle members the ability to request product samples.
