Iron Mountain Acquires St. Louis Business
Iron Mountain has acquired Missouri-based St. Louis Data Destruction.
The acquisition of the company, which provides plant-based and mobile shredding services, was completed earlier this summer.
A spokeswoman for Iron Mountain says that the purchase places Iron Mountain among the leading shredding companies in the Great Plains region.
ShipnShred Launches New Service
ShipnShred.com has launched a new service to make it easy for pharmacies to shred their pill bottles and prescriptions. The service costs less than $25 per box and accepts paper and pill bottles.
"Right now, most pharmacies don’t know how to securely and cost effectively dispose of the hundreds of pill bottles and prescriptions that get left at their counters each week," Steven Hastert, president of ShipnShred.com, says. "ShipnShred.com provides a secure and cost-effective solution to shred it all."
Grant Money fights ID Theft
The state of California has renewed a $700,000 grant to help combat ID theft, according to a report from the L.A. Daily News. The funds from the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services go to the Southern California High Tech Task Force Identity Theft Detail, a partnership of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. The group was established in 1999 and provides training to investigate and prosecute ID theft crimes.
