The White Plains, New York-based Heineken USA subsidiary of Netherlands-based brewery Heineken has launched what it calls “a digital interactive experience” to offer a different way to report on its sustainability progress.
“PDFs, graphs and footnotes have been exchanged for an engaging visual journey,” says the company regarding its new report format.
Heineken’s “Brew a Better World Experience” is hosted on its website and has been designed to “invite users to learn about the company’s sustainability priorities, progress, and achievements.”
The Brew a Better World Experience asks visitors to complete several tasks, including guiding a ship between two ports in the most energy efficient way possible and “managing a hectic bar that encourages recycling.”
Heineken USA says it will be making a donation to the Closed Loop Foundation based on the number of people who engage with the digital experience. “The more people interact with the experience, the more we will donate--up to $50,000,” says the firm.
The Closed Loop Foundation researches and provides funding for cities, inventors and businesses who are working on projects designed to improve the economic and environmental impact of the circular economy. “With this grant, Heineken USA is supporting the Closed Loop Foundation initiative to study and improve glass recycling across North America,” says the company.
