Pellenc ST supplies sorting machines to French MRF
Pellenc ST has supplied optical sorting machines to ValcopIA, a French material recovery facility (MRF) that opened in July of last year.
According to Pellenc ST, ValcopIA sets the standard for sorting in France by using Pellenc’s latest generation of sorting equipment. In total, Pellenc ST supplied 21 Mistral+ Connect machines to recover 13 fractions of recyclable materials, excluding metals and aluminum.
Pellenc, which also is based in France, notes 13 AISEE machines use artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze the quality of the streams in real time and assist in performance management. The company recently launched its AISEE quality control analyzer, designed to monitor, analyze and improve the quality of recyclables while reducing material losses.
“Thanks to all these technologies, we achieve recycling rates of over 92 percent,” ValcopIA Director Vincent Castaignede says.
ValcopIA’s mission is to recycle packaging materials from more than 1 million residents in the Toulouse, France, region. The MRF operates two lines and 21 machines, nine of which are dedicated to separating flat items, and 12 are dedicated to sorting hollow items.
AISEE gantries are used to check the purity on 12 of the 13 materials sorted and are positioned at the end of conveyor belts. They continuously monitor the quality of the stream, recovery rate and overall efficiency of the sorting center. A final AISEE unit will be installed on the refuse conveyor belt. Positioned upstream, downstream or at key points in the process, these units provide real-time information on the composition of the stream.
Danieli receives crane order from Austrian company

Italy-based Danieli & C. S.p.A. will provide overhead scrap handling cranes and a Q3-DYMS Scrap Yard Management System to Austrian steelmaker Voestalpine.
Two years ago, Voestalpine indicated Danieli would be supplying engineering, production and commissioning equipment and services for two planned recycled electric arc furnace mills in Linz and Donawitz, Austria. London-based Primetals Technology also is a supplier to those projects.
Now, Voestalpine has awarded Danieli a contract for five automatic scrapyard cranes at the Donawitz site, which will be integrated with the Danieli Q3-DYMS Scrap Yard Management System there.
The cranes will feature what Danieli calls advanced automation technologies, including absolute positioning systems, intelligent video cameras (Danieli Eye-On), electrical antisway and regenerative drives, scrap material classification and volumetric detection for yard inventory.
Magnet firms target shipping times

Two providers of magnetic equipment to the recycling industry—Ohio Magnetics and Eriez—have made announcements pertaining to efforts to expedite the time between equipment orders and deliveries.
Maple Heights, Ohio-based Ohio Magnetics’ Super Loadstar magnet stocking program now includes its 67-inch size magnet, joining its 48- and 58-inch sizes of the Super Loadstar magnets that are able to be shipped within five business days.
Ohio Magnetics says its Super Loadstar line is designed with heavy-duty cast case construction for scrap handling and has the highest lifting capacity in the industry, ranging from 2,200-4,585 pounds.
“The stocking program allows us to respond faster to customer needs, reducing wait times,” says Kevin Sullivan, Ohio Magnetics’ sales manager. “These magnets deliver a significant performance edge, offering between 220-415 pounds more lifting capacity than comparable models on the market. This means our customers can begin using the equipment immediately, lifting more to achieving greater efficiency from Day 1.”
Erie, Pennsylvania-based Eriez has expanded its Quick Ship Program to provide faster turnaround times for customers in North America for some of its most in-demand equipment lines, including magnetic separation, metal detection and vibratory separation equipment used in food processing, packaging, plastics and light manufacturing applications.
While some of its larger components used in downstream auto shredding applications often involve customized installation processes, the Quick Ship Program can help buyers seeking a model that can be quickly put into place.
“When time is critical, the Quick Ship program delivers,” says Bill Dudenhoefer, an Eriez senior product sales specialist. “We’ve strengthened the program to give customers what matters most: shorter lead times, reliable performance and superior quality to keep production moving without interruption.”
Eriez says its Quick Ship Program offers a broad selection of built-for-stock models in standard configurations for rapid assembly and shipment.
Heil expands dealer network with Driveline Truck and Trailer

The Heil Co., part of Environmental Solutions and a segment of Terex Corp., has expanded its dealer network with the appointment of Driveline Truck and Trailer as the authorized sales, service, parts and training provider for Atlantic Canada.
Headquartered in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Heil’s dealer network consists of more than 28 full-service dealerships across more than 60 locations throughout the United States and Canada.
