Boston Rack, Base Manufacturing Merge
Material handling solutions integrator Boston Rack International Inc., North Easton, Mass., has joined with storage solutions expert Base Manufacturing, Monroe, Ga. to become what it describes as "the nation’s first full-service integrator and warehouse storage solutions manufacturer."
Following the merger, Boston Rack and Base will operate as subsidiaries of a holding company, Elite Storage Solutions, based in North Easton, to take advantage of brand identities within their marketplaces.
"By merging with Base Manufacturing we will be able to join forces and provide our customers the quality, efficiency and depth of products that our competitors are not able to offer," says Peter Murphy, Boston Rack International founder, president and CEO.
Intek Truck and Equipment Leasing Closes Deal
with Smart Shred Mobile Document Destruction
Rick Vigorito, owner of a new St. James, N.Y.-based destruction company called Smart Shred Mobile Document Destruction, has closed a deal with Intek Truck and Equipment Leasing, Roseland, N.J.
Intek presented Vigorito with a check at the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID) 2009 Annual Conference in New Orleans on April 2, enabling Vigorito to take possession of a new shred truck from Shred-Tech, Cambridge, Ontario.
Vigorito selected at MDS-26GT from Shred-Tech, which features at ST-15H shredder that is cast entirely of aluminum and offers a throughput rate of from 3,000 to 4,000 pounds per hour.
This is the first shred truck that Vigorito has purchased for Smart Shred, which will service clients throughout Long Island, N.Y.

Andrews Software Releases ASI Mobile 3.0 Wireless Technology
Andrews Software Inc. (ASI), Cleveland, a supplier of records and information management industry software, has announced the release of ASI Mobile 3.0 Shred Edition, which provides two-way wireless communication with route drivers.
The ASI Mobile 3.0 Service Dashboard is initially compiled upon receipt of the day’s service orders, received wirelessly via the Internet or a workstation. Viewed on the handheld computer, this user interface provides a real-time snapshot of service activity.
Improved inventory control is another benefit ASI Mobile 3.0 offers, according to ASI. Barcode scanning via the handheld computer tracks bin locations and changes and enables drivers to capture service times and bin capacities.
