ShredTime, a division of Media Services, based in Kansas City, Mo., has added on-site hard drive destruction to its roster of client services. The company claims it is among the first in the Kansas City Metro area to offer the service.
The destruction device the company employs physically destroys the hard drive using an hydraulic punch press, which makes the drive unreadable and the data unusable, ShredTime reports. The device is manufactured by UltraShred (www.ultrashred.com) and branded the Mini Monster.
“It’s an exciting additional service we can provide to clients that want to personally witness the destruction of terabits of information in a matter of seconds,” says Robert Rippentrop, president of Media Services and ShredTime. “We are very committed to helping ensure our clients information is securely destroyed no matter the form—paper, magnetic media or hard drives.”
