PeakData Service Inc., a Colorado-based company that provides data eradication services, says it has launched a service to provide on-site destruction of digital storage media using a mobile destruction platform built specifically for the purpose.
The mobile shredding platform consists of an International DuraStar 4400 truck capable of running on ultra-low-sulfur diesel or B5 biodiesel. The payload compartment is 1,200 cubic feet with up to 10,000 pounds of carrying capacity, according to PeakData.
It is designed to process electronic scrap, providing one-pass processing for precious metal recovery or secure data destruction, the company says.
