Big Truck Rental (BTR), a leading essential services rental vehicle provider based in Tampa, Florida, is celebrating 20 years in business this month. BTR was founded in 2002 by CEO Scott Dols with the mission to become a valued resource for his customers and to help grow their businesses.

Over the past 20 years, BTR has worked to create a nationally serviced and maintained rental fleet, which includes front loaders, side loaders, rear loaders, grapple trucks, roll-off garbage trucks and terminal tractors.

“We started the business with a handful of trucks in Texas with confidence that our rentals would support waste haulers in time of need due to down or wrecked trucks with a vision of growth, but the growth and industry mindset change to rental being used as a fleet strategy has even surpassed my original vision. We have assembled an industry-leading team that is providing fleet and capital solutions and changing not only the way the waste industry views rental but the other markets we continue to enter,” says Dols.

According to BTR, the company allows customers to flex their fleet to “meet their individual demands in today’s ever-changing environment,” offering short-term rental; long-term rental; rent-to-purchase; off-rent purchases; and Complete Fleet, an 18-month rental program.

“Scott is a visionary leader who was well ahead of industry trends when starting this business and built the foundation that is allowing us to scale this business across North America by providing large publicly traded haulers, private equity-owned collectors, family-owned businesses, Top 100 Fortune companies and municipalities with customized solutions to support growth, optimize asset utilization and maximize return on capital,” says Zach Martin, president of BTR.

“The founding principles of being flexible, supportive and dependable set the tone for how we not only serve our customers and industry but how our entire team works together as a family,” says Dols. Martin adds, “It is table stakes that we stand by these principles and maintain our culture even through this period of extensive growth.”
