The various assets and operations of Appleton Paper's coated freesheet business have been transferred to create a new legal entity, Appleton Coated LLC. The company has operations at Combined Locks, Wis., and Newton Falls, N.Y.
In January 1999, the board of directors of Arjo Wiggins Appleton, the parent company of Appleton Papers, announced a new organizational structure that created three autonomous, global divisions: carbonless and thermal papers; fine, specialties and coated papers; and merchanting. The Group is now organized globally around its products and markets rather than the location of its facilities.
Appleton Papers produces carbonless and thermal paper and specialty products at manufacturing facilities in Appleton and Portage, Wis., West Carrollton, Ohio, and Roaring Spring and Harrisburg, Pa.
